Our recent visit to Bowens for internal cladding was disappointing. Despite a great website offering and a 30-minute drive, the showroom experience fell short. There was no internal cladding on display, making it impossible to assess the product. We were directed to a storage area with cladding on pallets, which was not ideal. As a result, we decided to try another business . To our delight, the other store had all the cladding on display and provided us with a quote. The difference was significant. While the staff at Bowens were friendly, their lack of knowledge was evident. We received vague responses like "I'm not sure," which left us feeling uninformed. It would be ideal to have samples on display so customers can make informed decision.

Every time I come here the staff follow me around like I'm a common thief and it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that I am a thief of substance. They have the subtlety of a pack of lobotomised chimpanzees at feeding time. They will literally stand in an aisle and stare at me while I'm trying to work out how many nuts and bolts I need. Have you ever tried purchasing nuts while a mouth breather stares straight at you, glazed over eyes not betraying the presence of conscious thought for a second. Today I lost my patience and asked one of the junior lobotomites if he could please make his own acquaintance and leave in vulgar terms. I swear to God he stared at me without response and continued to stare at me while I repeated the expletive laced request several more time before telling me he was trying to help me shop. All I could purchase was $50 worth of nuts and bolts because they literally herded me to the counter and wouldn't let me check out the tools. I needed to purchase a set of Sutton screw extractors and was told they didn't stock them. I showed them the website and he shrugged and said that was other stores. Didn't offer to order it in. I needed an impact socket set. I litterally was not allowed to buy it. I need a new hammer. No chance. Need a set of screwdrivers. They couldn't care less. This is an exact representation of what happened today. It has been pretty much the same every time I've gone there. Because I go in not in tradie clothes and with a backpack they lose their god damn minds. I dont drive and so have to carry things with me and can't leave them in my non-existent car. I dont dress in overalls and steel caps because I'm not a tradie. I had been nothing but nice and polite every time up until today. I only go back because of how close it is to my workshop + no car = convenience I can't pass up sometimes. I wish I could give a negative 5 star review.
